My Memories of Jim

Created by oldjudge 9 years ago
Jim was a renaissance man. Not only was he a Budist scholar; he was extremely knowledgeable about music, environmental issues, and baseball cards. It was in the latter area that I met Jim. He was expert in the vagaries of many scarce card sets, with a tremendous eye for the cards that were most aesthetically pleasing. I treasure the memory of the times I spent with Jim, whether at the National conventions or when he visited me at my home. Jim had a lot to brag about, but never bragged. He had opportunities to be in the spotlight, but yielded the honor to others who were often less deserving. I know of no one in the hobby who was as universally loved and respected as Jim. A lot of people in our little corner of the world are better for having known him.
